PACQUIAO SPARS FOUR ROUNDS WITH LYDELL RHODES

"Fighter if the Decade" Manny Pacquiao sparred four rounds with undefeated Lydell Rhodes (1909, 9KO's) at the Pacman Wild Card Gym in his hometown of General Santos City on Tuesday under the watchful eye of trainer Freddie Roach. Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz told the Manila Standard that Pacquiao "looked good" against the shifty Rhodes, a one-time protege of Floyd Mayweather Sr, father and trainer of unbeaten pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. Koncz described the first day of sparring and Pacquiao's regular routine as "a tremendous workout." His seriousness in training for the much-awaited rematch with WBO welterweight champion Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 12, prompted Pacquiao to beg-off from standing as principal sponsor at the wedding of "Bai" Elorde, grandson of the late world junior lightweight champion Gabriel "Flash" Elorde in Manila on Wednesday afternoon. Koncz said Pacquiao had requested close friend and Ilocos Sur governor Luis "Chavit" Singson to represent him at the wedding.

Pacquiao-Bradley rematch: Repeat or revenge?

WBO welterweight titlist Timothy Bradley Jr. will face a dilemma when he squares off against Manny Pacquiao for the second time on April 12. Atty. Ed Tolentino, veteran sportscaster and boxing analyst, said the undefeated American will have to decide if he should brawl with Pacquiao or duplicate the same hit-and-run tactic that he used during the first fight. “In the rematch, will he stand up and fight? Or will he adopt the same hit and run strategy?” asked Tolentino in an interview on ANC Hardball Wednesday night.

Tolentino has no doubt that a hit-and-run style will be Bradley’s best chance against Pacquiao. “It's not necessarily popular, but it actually gives him a better chance against Manny Pacquiao. Because toe-to-toe, Manny Pacquiao will take out Timothy Bradley,” he said. The two boxers first squared off in June 2012, with Bradley winning via a controversial split decision.

The result didn’t sit well among fight fans, forcing the American boxer to reclaim his pride through successful bouts against Ruslan Provodnikov and Juan Manuel Marquez. “He conquered Juan Manuel Marquez, he conquered Ruslan Provodnikov to drive home the point that he can box and brawl,” said Tolentino. “But only against Pacquiao can Bradley really carve a name for himself.”

The analyst believes Pacquiao has chosen to fight Bradley to prove that the result of the first bout was a sham. “In the case of Manny Pacquiao, he wants to prove that he got screwed by the judges, that he should have won the fight… So it's gonna be a matter of repeat or revenge, when Pacquiao and Bradley meet,” he said. http://www.buyaffordabletickets.com/bradley-vs-pacquiao-2-tickets/

Mayweather picks Canelo Alvarez for Sept 14 fight

Floyd Mayweather Jr. picks WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight will be fought at a catch-weight of 152 lbs. Mayweather is giving Canelo an extra 1.5 lbs. Good job Mayweather for agreeing to take the fight. He probably didn’t want to face a ton of criticism by his loyal boxing fans that he’s ducking the 22-year-old Canelo, even if he has the perfect right to choose not to fight the light heavyweight-sized Canelo.

Who would blame Mayweather for not wanting to fight a guy that weighed in at 172 lbs in his last fight like Canelo did recently? Mayweather weighed only 146 the night of his last fight on May 4th against Robert Guerrero. That’s a 26 pound weight difference between Mayweather and Canelo. Mayweather is showing a lot of courage to fight a guy that should be fighting at middleweight or better yet, light heavyweight.

I like Mayweather’s chances against normal-sized junior middleweights, but Canelo is more like a light heavyweight/super middleweight that is able to drain down to 154 [junior middleweight] and use that extra size after he rehydrates to crush his lighter opponents. If Canelo comes into the fight weighing over 170 on September 14th, he’s going to be awfully hard for Mayweather to beat. Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez tickets are not available for purchase online.

Alvarez vs Trout tickets are now available

Undefeated junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (41-0-1, 30 KO’s) and undefeated Austin “No Doubt” Trout (26-0, 14 KO’s) is scheduled to meet to unify their 154-pound belts on April 20, 2013 at the Alamodome in San Antonio Texas in the main event of a Showtime card. Well do you have Alvarez vs Trout predictions? For me the chances of Canelo defeating Trout next month aren’t very good. Canelo is more of a bigger version of Cotto, and with the same flaws and limitations.

Trout does well against those types of fighters. I can’t see Canelo winning that fight, and the more than likely he’ll suffer his first loss of his career. Already 12 thousand tickets have been sold for the fight that will take place for the 72,000 seat stadium at the Alamodome. But the Alvarez vs Trout highly anticipated match want more fans to watch the fight live. So Tickets for Alvarez vs Trout are still in extremely high demand.

As a result, two bleacher packages will be added to the existing set-up allowing for additional seating for over 3,000 people. Buy Alvarez vs Trout Tickets now before all tix will be sold out. The bookmakers odds favour Alvarez considerably but based on these details it should be 50/50 or Trout the slight Favorited. His win over Cotto is more impressive than his counterparts accomplishments. Until now Trout has not had the publicity or recognition he deserves. If he wins against the glorified golden boy, the future will look very bright for “no doubt” Trout.

Rigondeaux vs Donaire Tickets

Forget Donaire vs Mares match, Donaire vs Rigondeaux is much better. Donaire and Rigondeaux will be meeting up on HBO on April 13th at the Radio City Music Hall, in New York, New York, USA. WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (31-1, 20 KO’s) and WBA World super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (11-0, 8 KO’s) finally seal their contract after Rigondeauz threatens not to fight if the Top Rank will not settle their case with other promotions. Rigondeaux has a co-promoter in Caribe Promotions. Rigondeaux is the real deal at 122, and if Donaire can beat him, then that really will make a statement for himself as being the best fighter at 122. A win over Rigondeaux means that there’s nothing more for Donaire to do at this weight class because the only other good fighter at this weight, Abner Mares, is moving up to featherweight. Donaire will need to do this if he wants to keep getting important fights. Rigondeaux will test Donaires ability to take body shots in this fight, and if he fails that test then we’ll see Rigondeaux walk out of the ring with Donaire’s World Boxign Organization title. Diehard fans are dying in anticipation just to buy Rigondeaux vs Donaire Tickets. The sale of boxing tickets will reach new heights for this long awaited bout between world champions.
